A New Year
It's already Wednesday January 9th, 2008. Wow. Where does the time go? It's crazy! Hard to believe I've been in Vancouver for almost one year already.
Christmas and New Years were fantastic! I only had a chance to spend two and a half days at home in Victoria but it was awesome. I'm so thankful I was able to get home. As for New Years, well that was pretty fantastic too. My mom came over from Victoria and we had dinner with family at a beautiful French Restaurant in West Vancouver. Afterwards I met up with friends downtown. It was the most perfect way to start off the New Year.
So now I'm back working for MAC cosmetics. My 6 week Christmas contract ended Jan.5th but I ended up getting the 10hr/week contract position I applied for. It's perfect. Now I can still have time to pursue my acting career as well as freelance makeup. The contract will last until August so I'm thrilled to have steady work until then. I'll be working a min. of 10hrs a week but if I'm available to work more, and they need me, I can. It's perfect.
I'm in the process of putting together a group makeup class. It will be designed to help the average woman learn how to apply makeup and what colours look best on them. This will be an interactive class so everyone will leave confident. I'm super excited about it. I often say the best part about being a makeup artist is watching the women in my chair leave, feeling confident and beautiful. It's amazing to me how many women don't know how to apply makeup and what colours look good on them. This class will take the guess work out of it. Did I mention I'm excited?!
As for acting...well I'm putting it out there that this will be my year. I'm ready for some action, I just hope the casting directors are too! Ha ha. I'm still taking acting classes once a week and enjoying being challenged. I can't wait for the day when I can wake up every morning and do what I love to do. Act. I could care less about the fame and fourtune, okay the money would be cool, but seriously I just want to do what I love to do...everyday.
In the meantime I'm sending out positive vibes to everyone I cross paths with. Don't wait another day to do what you dream of. Take the step today and see where you end up. If it turns upside down, take it as a lesson to not go down the path again. Pick yourself up, dust yourself off and pick a new path. There are so many things we want to do but for some reason we hold ourselves back. Don't wait till tomorrow. It might not be there.
Until next time...
