Canadian Idol

So where did I leave off...well let's see. We had a rehearsal for a few hours on Saturday September 16th. This was just to make sure the cameras had the right angle and the producers could approve the whole show. They loved it and agreed with David Campbell that the dancers were an awesome addition. They hired 8 dancers and about 20 choir members. Sunday we were called at 1pm. We chilled out until about 3pm when we ran the whole show trying not to stop but they had to a couple times. Because we were at the top of the show we were allowed to stay and watch the rehearsal. We saw Mellisa O'Neil (last year's winner), the beautiful children's African Choir (brought tears to our eyes), and best of all Nelly Furtado. I didn't get to meet her which was a bummer. Her dancers were...how should I put it...interesting? It was different that's for sure. She looked awesome for having a baby not to recently. We broke for dinner and had to be back for 5:45pm. We came back and starting getting ready then we were escorted to the stage for showtime at 7pm LIVE! It was all over far too fast but I had an awesome time and am just so thankful for the opportunity. I got to work with a ton of performers that I knew and some I had only heard of. By the end of the few days we spent together I felt like we all knew each other pretty well. The best part of the whole thing was getting my ACTRA. I'm so excited about that and know how blessed I am to get it so easily.

So yesterday I had my callback for CATS. I was seen for Bomballerina. She sings Macavity. I had to dance again (with a much smaller group including the guys) and learn a chunk from Macavity to sing for them. Over all it went very well but who knows what will happen. Only 12 ladies came back and I think it was only between be and one other girl for the part so we will see...

Until next time.
