Summer is here!
This weekend I start shooting the Indie film I got into. We've had a few rehearsals and I'm really exciting to go to camera. The script is so well written and I know that everyone will be able to relate to it. It's close to my heart and because of that I feel like I know this character so well. I was cast as the lead female and for most of the movie I'll be in a tank top and underwear. Yeah, that's right. Don't worry, it's not a porn or anything X rated. ha ha. It's going to be great...it's just that well, I'm a women and I do worry about how I'll look on film so.....
I've been climbing the Grouse Grind twice a week. Here are some stats... The trail is 2.9km (1.8 miles for you Americans). They call it nature's stairmaster. There are over 2000 "stairs" and some people walk back down. Personally I think you might just want to shoot your knees instead. The pain would be over much faster. I always pay the $5 and take the Gondola down. It's insane. I am insane. I know. Cool thing is I've already cut down my time by a half an hour! My friend Liz and I had been talking about it for months and when the weather started to get better (and the filming date started to get closer) we decided to go for it. The first time I did it I thought I was going to pass out and throw up. I took a break and sat down for about 5mins. When I said to Liz "so we're at the half way mark right", she responded with her head cocked and a little smurk on her face "ah, no Krista. We're not even at the 1/4 Mark". Ha ha Ha! Yeah, wasn't laughing then. Anyway, today was the 8th time I've climbed that monster and believe it or not it was only the 2nd time I could see a view. It really is worth it when you get to the top. I'm thinking I might be super crazy this week and do it again on Friday. I think I can handle 3 times in 1 week. :]
Until next time...
