dreams do come true
So I watched the Oscars tonight and have to say that I was inspired. Dreams do come true and family is important. That was the theme as far as I'm concerned. Wow. Such amazing work. It was so exciting to see the reactions and hear the speeches. Such humble artists thanking the ones that helped them get to where they are today. I want to be there. I want to stand on that stage and be rewarded for my work. I want to wake up every morning and be thankful that I'm doing what I love and making a comfortable living at it. I don't need the fame and fortune, I just want to do what I love every day of every week of every month of every year. Honest, passionate, challenging work. That's what I want.
Until next time...

Eat, Pray, Love
Wow. I just finished reading the most amazing book called Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert. Wow. It was so good, and exactly what I needed at this point in my life. Thanks to my friend Lisa for telling me about it. We've been reading it at the same time and checking in with each other...kinda funny...our own little book club.
I just wanted to share a snippet from the very end of it. Don't worry, I promise not to ruin it. It's just the last little bit of the authors notes...
"In the end, maybe we must all give up trying to pay back the people in this world who sustain our lives. Maybe it's wiser to surrender before the miraculous scope of human generosity and to just keep saying thank you, forever and sincerely, for as long as we have voices."
Interesting right? I mean, how many times have you felt guilty because you felt you couldn't pay someone back for what they did for you? When I do something for someone it's because I truely care about them and I want to give. I don't give because I want something in return. So why do I have a hard time just saying thank you and being truely gratefull for what I've just received? Next time someone gives something to me I'm going to say thank you and not worry about paying them back or returning the favour. I'll try to remember all the times I give with no strings attached and realize that it has come full circle back to me.
I've said it before and I'll say it again...There are so many things to be thankful for".
